Dog with bundles of unchanneled energy and bounce?

We’re working dog owners and know what it can be like living with a smart and energetic dog! Without an appropriate channel, their boundless energy and unmet natural instincts can come out in all sorts of problematic ways: running, chasing, playing, hunting and lack of hearing when they’re busy doing something ‘important’ to name a few!

Maybe you’re looking for something fun to do together regularly to keep your dogs physically and mentally stimulated?

Join our agility classes

Spend an hour a week with your dog learning new agility skills, improving obedience, and strengthening your bond.

The progressive programme is designed to equip you with the foundational skills to not only tackle obstacles but also navigate courses so that by  your 4th class, you will have learnt how to communicate with your dog and focus on achieving the same goal, which is completing a sequence of obstacles without faults.

In the final session of the course package, you will have a go on a full agility course as a taster of what the Agility Club is like.

Each week leading up to this, I will teach you the cues and help you master the basics moves to direct your dog where to go and what to do.

How the Dog Agility Course works

Three Consecutive Weeks

Your course includes three weekly classes to help you and your dog master agility basics

Flexible Fourth Week

Your fourth session is a flexible club taster, introducing you to the next level of agility training. A class pass credit will be added to your account, allowing you to book this session at a time that suits you.

Small Group Sizes

Small, supportive class sizes give your dog the space they need to focus, ensuring a positive learning environment

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“… The small classes for the foundation course gave my GSD space to learn and has definitely helped build her confidence … Have decided to continue on with agility to continue to build on her confidence and also because it helps tire her out mentally”

Pat, Course Attendee

Focus on Foundations

Learn foundational agility skills, including jumps, tunnels, and handling techniques, laying the groundwork to complete an entire agility course with confidence.

Beginner Friendly

All breeds of vaccinated dogs 6 months and older are welcome. Basic obedience (sit and recall) is required, but the key is having the right mindset, strong bond, and willingness to learn. Dogs must focus in a group and have no history of aggression or biting.

Expert Guidance

With years of experience, I’ll offer clear instructions, support, and expert guidance. You’ll get tips and challenges for those who want them, with in-class support and WhatsApp guidance between sessions.

Additional Benefit

Ongoing access to members' training options at discounted prices, including group classes, workshops, and events exclusive to Anglian Dog Works graduates or dogs with a similar skill level.

4 Weeks of Fun, Engaging Agility Training

This course is designed to progressively build your dog's agility skills over a 3-week over three consecutive weeks, with the flexibility to choose your 4th week.

You’ll learn new techniques through structured exercises, starting with short sequences and advancing to multi-obstacle agility courses.

Agility Training Course Outline:

Week 1: 1.25h Jump & Tunnel Introduction

Week 2: 1.25h Training Turns

Week 3: 1h Handling Skills

Bonus: 1h Agility Club Class (Free Pass)

By the end of the course, you and your dog will have mastered the basics of agility, working together to complete obstacle sequences without faults.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“… Both of us learnt lots of new skills and we ended up completing a reasonably long agility course after a short amount of time! Each week brought something different but built on previous skills - this approach kept us both engaged and eager to return!”

Sam, Course Attendee

You will meet each week with your trainer and other like-minded handlers to learn new agility skills by being guided through the steps of progressive exercises. For example:

  • Confidently run straight and curved tunnels.
  • Run at a distance from you over jumps, in a line and ‘fans’, without ducking under or swerving around the outside.
  • Turn left and right when given a directional cue.
  • Teaching you agility handling moves such as ‘front crosses’ and 'go rounds'.
  • Sit-stay at the start line using Place Boards

Advance from training short sequences to running some simple multi-obstacle agility courses.

After training, you will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to train your dog. You will receive clear instructions and the steps on how to continue your independent practice for dog agility training, at home, and between classes via weekly messages.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“…We really really enjoyed it and the thought and planning you put into sessions makes it run like clockwork - which is important for an enthusiastic dog…”

Great opportunity for you and your dog!

My dog, Roddy, is a three year old working cocker spaniel who has unlimited energy! He loves being given a job to do so I thought agility would be a great way of keeping his brain engaged and for me to learn new skills with him. We did the foundation course with Emma who is brilliant and Roddy gained so much confidence and came home exhausted. We have now joined agility club and it has given us so many ideas for training when we are out on walks. I would definitely recommend giving agility training a go. We love it!

Agility Beginners Course

Monty, my 18 month old cockapoo, and I both had so much fun and learnt so much attending the agility beginners course. Emma is lovely and explains everything so well. Everyone attending was really friendly and there was no pressure for your dog to get it right, but lots of guidance and advice on offer. We’ve since attended a couple more classes and look forward to many more. It’s a great way to engage with Monty (and to tire him out!!).

Agility Course and Agility club

We really enjoyed the course and first week of the agility club.

The course gave us the basics, with clear instructions and support from Emma, and the club was great. A mixed group of experience, which really helped, so we can see where our goal is (some really good dog handlers) and empathy from the less experienced dog owners.

Everyone was super friendly, I think every dog owner has been in an embarrassing situation or 10!!, so everyone was supportive and encouraging.

Definately going to keep going it was great fun for us and Milo

Fantastic course

Barney and I thoroughly enjoyed the foundation agility course and made great progress in the 4 week course. The 1-2--1 session was an added bonus. Emma is a fantastic instructor. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to do something fun with their dog.
