From no experience to confident in the core skills

If you're excited to start agility but a group programme doesn’t fit your schedule — or your dog’s behaviour makes you hesitant to join a class just yet - 121 Agility Sessions give you a personalised way to begin. You can build confidence before transitioning to a group, choose the number of in-person sessions you prefer, and tailor the content to your dog’s individual goals.
If you're looking to start agility with more in-person support and on a schedule that suits you, or you’d like to build your dog’s confidence before joining a group class, our 121 Agility Sessions are the ideal place to begin. They cover the same key foundations as our Dog Agility Foundation Course but in a private, one-to-one format, blending in-person coaching with guided homework so you and your dog can progress at the pace that feels right for your training journey.
These sessions are flexible — perfect for owners with busy routines or dogs who aren’t quite ready for a group environment.
The skills you develop here will give you a strong foundation to confidently step into group settings, such as our Agility Club, if that’s the direction you’d like to go.

Start with a conversation about your dog and your training goals. Because 121 training is tailored to your needs, we can also work on behaviours that support your agility journey, such as recall and off-lead control, and identify any challenges you’re currently facing. From this discussion, we’ll decide which package best aligns with your goals.

The number of 121 sessions ranges from 2–4, depending on your goals, learning style, how much training you’d like to continue at home, any additional areas you want support with, and whether progressing into group classes is your long-term aim.

By the end of the programme, we will have covered the basics of jumps and tunnels, so you and your dog will have all the skills needed to navigate a full agility course together.

Between sessions, I provide a range of learning resources via WhatsApp, including short video tutorials that explain how to handle your dog and why each skill matters. This ensures you know exactly what to practise between in-person classes — so you can see progress from day one. You’ll arrive at each session confident in the skills you’ve been practising at home, making the most of your time on the equipment.

Message with questions or updates at any time during the programme. I’ll respond within 24 hours, so you’re never left unsure
about what to do next.

You’re welcome to send video updates for
feedback. I’ll review them and offer clear, practical advice — helping you
fine-tune your approach and keep progress moving forward.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“… "If you’re looking for a trainer who is understanding, caring, and really ‘gets it,’ Emma at Anglian Dog Works is the person you need. Emma has been amazing with me and my Border Collie, Bella. Many trainers don’t truly understand Border Collies, but Emma does. What’s more, I’m a wheelchair user, and Emma has been incredibly patient and adaptable, ensuring that I can fully participate in agility with Bella. I only wish I had found her sooner."

The video starts with Rosie’s tentative first jumps. I then coached her handler through exercises to do at home, and when they returned, Rosie was confidently running full agility courses with jumps and tunnels.
Many of my regulars began exactly where you are now, sign up today, and be running courses in a few weeks!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Emma has been brilliant with us and our (occasionally over-enthusiastic!) 10-month-old Doberman. So far, we've attended a taster session and several private training sessions, learning about tunnels, crossovers, and navigating a course. For our last session, the whole family joined, and Emma was fantastic at engaging all of us... I'm now signed up for the foundation course and excited to continue working with our Dobie alongside other dogs."
