What to expect in the dog training class

  • The 40-minute sessions offer a fun, informal introduction to agility training for dogs.
  • They take place on an enclosed course of various obstacles, including those found in dog agility courses providing a controlled and safe space for your dog to explore and enjoy.
  • These sessions are designed to help your dog build confidence while having fun. It's a great way to see how your dog responds to the equipment, the agility experience and group dog training.
  • You’ll have the chance to meet the trainer, ask questions, and learn more about agility and any other dog training options at Anglian Dog Works you’re interested in.

 

Whether you're considering dog agility training as a new hobby or just looking for a fun activity to try with your dog, our FUNgility Taster Sessions are the perfect introduction.

You will take home a happy and satisfied dog after having tried something new because agility classes provide an outlet for their energy through mental and physical stimulation.

We love to share our beautiful venues with new groups, sessions are a lot of fun and it’s always nice for you guys to meet other dogs and like-minded handers too.

 

All ages, breeds, and experience levels are welcome

All breeds of dogs who have had their vaccinations and are 6 months and onward are welcome. Activities can be adjusted to be lower impact and therefore suitable for puppy agility foundation training as well as an activity to do with older dogs. READ MORE

The sessions are suited for all experience levels, even if you have done little or no training before.

Dogs must be suited to working in a group setting, off lead or on a long line, usually one at a time, and not ever shown aggression or bitten a person/another animal.

The friendly professional team will be there to offer support and guidance should you need it, as well as throw in challenges for those that want one!

 

Anglian Dog Works has two Dog Agility Training venues to choose from:

·        The Farm at Balsham is located just off the A11, 7 miles from Cambridge, 10 miles from Newmarket, 12 miles from Saffron Walden, 25 miles from Bury St Edmunds.

·        The enclosed Paddock at Barton is in partnership with Positive Paws Dog Training located near  Foxcotte Farm, Comberton Road.

 

When you book, you can expect welcome emails with links to all the details you need before the day, including things to bring and directions with a map.

Agility taster session

We had a great time at the agility taster, and more importantly, so did our 1-year-old spaniel! It was great to build his confidence and Emma was very knowledgeable with tips and suggestions to improve his focus and selective hearing! Great way to test out agility and see if it was something to try in the future with our dog - plus there were some great shots of him in action! :)

Terrific taster session

My energetic Springer Spaniel and I really enjoyed our agility taster session with Emma and the team. Neither my dog or I had tried agility before and we both came away having learnt new skills and having had lots of fun too. I'd highly recommend it for anyone thinking about getting into agility with their dog.

Great workshop!

We took our 11 month old Border collie Bandit and he loved it! Equally we really enjoyed it too! Emma and her team were great, really patient and very helpful with lots of tips. We can’t wait to start in the new year! We loved his action shot over the jumps!

Great intro to Agility

Having never done any agility training before with my dog Buzz, this taster session was great to see how he would take to it before committing to a course.
