Our 16 month golden retriever mabel was in need of some extra training, she had learnt the basics from me but with her age she was starting to show some bad behaviour that we needed help with. Emma was recommended to us from a friend, we heard such good things so we reached out and it was the best decision we made!

Mabel had started to push boundaries and had become hard work with her jumping, mouthing and lead walking. She had learnt to just not listen and it was becoming stressful.
We passed on everything we were looking to work on with mabel and we decided to try the done for you sessions and we are so glad we did! The difference from the first day that Emma and mabel started training to now is mind blowing! Emma has worked closely with us with the techniques that work with mabel, she wasnt the easiest dog to train but with Emma's knowledge and support we have cracked it. We can now walk mabel calmly by our side without being pulled! Shes calmer around us all in the house, less jumping and mouthing!

Boomer began training with Emma just a few weeks ago and I’ve seen marked improvement in recall and also her general sense of well-being. This progress was possible, even though Boomer was 5 years old and had only partial recall at the beginning. I plan to continue the training as long as I can, because the benefits for Boomer are so important!

Emma has been working with us for a little while with our boy Jay, Working line Golden Retriever, currently aged 18 months.

From the initial call consultation to the training now being in progress, we simply can’t find fault. We opted to go for the training done for you package, as given we got Jay when he was a little older at 18 months, we felt him having extra training done 121 with Emma would be the most effective way for him and us.

What’s clear, is not only is Emma extraordinarily talented at what she does, but that the care, passion and pure joy she showcases throughout consultations, interaction or training, instantly makes you feel comfortable and confident that Anglian Dog Works is absolutely the right choice for training.

During our consultation we discussed the challenges or perhaps concerns we had, particularly given we got him at 1 1/2 years old, and those were that he’s older, he has perhaps from the past not had lots of training, and certainly hadn’t been following any sort of gun dog training, and for us what was important is that we have Jay the most fulfilling quality of life that is catered to his breed, thus approaching Emma for support.

Post first session, we could instantly see development around, but most importantly we had a much better idea on the development areas given the advice Emma gave, particularly around retrieve, steadiness, and also the volume he looks at us for guidance whether loose lead walking, or in general. We thought the feedback and the progress was fabulous then, but then came the follow up videos, the in depth analysis, homework training for us to work on, and the endless WhatsApp’s of us working together virtually in between sessions.

We are now progressing even further along the initial gun dog grading for Retrievers, and we have got a fabulous recall, a much improved steadiness, a lot more interaction and drive to learn, much improved loose lead walking, and we are not even half way through! This will absolutely be the start of a long term partnership with us, Jay and Anglian Dog Works!

Emma has been working with my show cocker puppy (started at 5mo) Maple, for a month now working on her loose lead walking and recall. I don't have enough positive things to say about Emma. From the start she has understood my what my goal was and has been understanding about creating two recalls, without a single gripe just taking it in her stride and tailoring it to our family. She has been so polite and friendly from the offset and has been engaging with myself and my children which has really helped everyone understand what we need to do to see her achieve. The resources provided (videos, messages, feedback from videos sent and recommending products) have been invaluable. Emma has provided explanation as to why we are doing certain things which has furthered my understanding. Maple is enjoying her time with Emma and can't contain her eagerness to get started i believe this is a true testiment to Emma's enthusiasm and positive approach, and working with her breed traits not against them! Maple has made leaps and bounds progress, and I'm continuing with Emma because I feel I have learnt so much and my "goals" for Maple are being achieved tenfold, and i know with Emmas help i can have a dog who is able to surpass anything i could of hoped for. I am confident I'm providing Maple with a fun outlet that also challenges her. I am also more confident with her knowing what i am meant to be doing. And the result i have found is a beautifully engaged dog. But most of all I have someone who has not made me compromise my relationship with Maple, by using harsher techniques. We have solidified our bond and done it so in only a POSITIVE way. I'd recommend her highly.
