Train Your Puppy to Be a Well-Mannered, Confident Dog for Life

Getting the foundations right

Bringing home a puppy is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're a first-time dog owner or it’s been years since you last had a puppy, it’s easy to feel lost with all the conflicting advice online.

How do you ensure your puppy grows into a happy, confident companion you can trust off-lead and enjoy peaceful walks with?
How do you tackle common puppy challenges like biting, jumping, or pulling on the lead?

Without the right guidance during these critical first months, small challenges can grow into long-term frustrations. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Your Solution: Tailored, One-to-One Puppy Training

I specialise in working breeds, high-drive dogs, and puppies of all types, offering expert, personalised training designed just for you and your puppy.

My puppy sessions focus on your training goals through fun reward-based games and exercises taking into consideration your lifestyle, requirements and breed's needs.

In general, with my flexible 121 training programme, we can cover topics including:

  • Build a foundation of trust, focus, and connection.
  • Address specific challenges like biting, pulling, and off-lead trust.
  • Enrich your puppy’s life through mental stimulation and breed-appropriate activities.
  • Ensure your puppy becomes a well-balanced family pet you’ll enjoy for years to come.

My outdoor, real-world training sessions are built around your lifestyle, schedule, and goals, giving you tools that work in everyday settings—not just in the classroom.

Brilliant introduction to outdoor agility

Our spaniel puppy has a lot of energy and enthusiasm but is easily distracted. Emma was great at working with her in one-to-one sessions in the lovely outdoor setting to keep her busily engaged and coming back for more. We're looking forward to our group course next month when she's old enough

Flat coat retriever ( Biff) agility training

Biff is now 15 months old and we started agility in April this year joining the beginner course and now members of the club . Both of us were new to agility and Emma was so encouraging and supportive especially when things didn’t go to plan . Biff is a very active dog needing to be kept busy and agility is perfect for this . We had a 1:1 today and Emma has given us a number of pointers and homework ready for next session . Emma is not only very knowledgeable but also clearly passionate about her dog training and I would recommend her with 5⭐️

5 star fun!

I wanted to try agility with my 2 year old Labrador to see if she would enjoy it, but I also wanted some advice on reducing her nervousness around other dogs. I booked a private session and left buzzing! My dog had so much fun (as did I) going over jumps and through tunnels (the dog, not me). I also left with new insights into why some dogs seem to take an instant dislike to her and how to help her become less anxious. I'm now booked in the agility foundation course and really looking forward to it.

Happy little street dog

Myself and my Romanian rescue Maggie had our second one to one agility session with Emma last Thursday. Maggie has high anxiety and struggles with people she doesn't know. Emma is so amazing with her and it instantly puts her at ease!
It's been a while since her first session but I was so impressed with how much she remembered. She's very unsure of confined spaces, so her biggest achievement was the tunnel with a turn! By the end it wasn't a concern to her at all.
She was still on such a high after her session that when when we got home she kept running around the house with her ball (she rarely plays with toys only when she's super happy) and then slept all night long!
We will definitely be back to keep improving her confidence. Thanks so much Anglian Dog Works!!
